Shohei Ohtani homered for the third straight game Monday, bringing his season total to a major league-leading 11 in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 6-3 win over the Miami Marlins.
Ohtani, who just earned his eighth career Player of the Week award and first as a Dodger, tied the game at 2-2 with a two-run blast to center in the first inning off Roddery Munoz. The Dodgers have won five games in a row and 12 of the last 14.
The star slugger added a single in the fourth in a 2-for-3 night at Dodger Stadium. He has homered in three consecutive games for the first time since last July.
James Outman hit a two-run homer to break a 3-3 tie in the second inning. Freddie Freeman and Teoscar Hernandez also cleared the fences for the Dodgers.
Walker Buehler made his season debut after missing all of 2023 as he recovered from elbow surgery. The right-hander allowed three runs in four innings of work.
In other action, San Diego Padres pitcher Yu Darvish (2-1) picked up his second win after working five scoreless innings in a 6-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs. He struck out five while allowing three hits and a walk.
