Seiya Suzuki picked up the first walk-off hit of his major league career, giving the Chicago Cubs a 6-5, 10-inning victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday.

Suzuki followed a leadoff walk to Michael Busch with a ground-ball single to left field, scoring Ian Happ, the automatic runner placed at second base to start the bottom of the 10th.

The Japanese right fielder, who was in the designated hitter's spot, had gone hitless in his previous four at-bats at Wrigley Field.

"It feels good to finish a game like this," Suzuki said. "I just tried to be aggressive in that situation. I'm happy with the outcome."

Suzuki's walk-off single ended the Cubs' three-game losing streak after George Springer's two-out, two-run triple tied the game at 5-5 in the top of the ninth.

In other action, Masataka Yoshida went 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs as the Boston Red Sox outslugged the Baltimore Orioles 12-10.

Yoshida hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning, his eighth of the season, and singled in another run in the eighth.

Shohei Ohtani was 0-for-5 with a pair of strikeouts in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 7-6 come-from-behind win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Kevin Kiermaier, who came to the Dodgers in a recent trade with the Blue Jays, broke a 4-4 tie with a three-run homer that capped a five-run sixth.
